Reggio Emilia

The Reggio Emilia Approach is an innovative and inspiring approach to early childhood education which values the child as strongcapable and resilient; rich with wonder and knowledge. Every child brings with them deep curiosity and potential and this innate curiosity drives their interest to understand their world and their place within it.

Montessori

Montessori style education in the classroom aims to make the child independent and able to do things for him or herself. This is achieved by giving children opportunities to move, to choose what they want to do, and to help the adults with tasks. When children are able to do things for themselves there is an increase in their self belief, self confidence and esteem that they carry on throughout their life.

“The environment must be rich in motives which lend interest to activity and invite the child to conduct his or her own experiences.” – Maria Montessori

Waldorf

Outdoor play is central to Waldorf learning.  This supports the integration of seasonal lessons and stories into the curriculum. Children have daily sessions of outdoor play, not confined to short recesses, but longer periods of active time.

"The need for imagination, a sense of truth and a feeling of responsibility are the very nerve of education" – Rudolph Steiner
