Duchess Early Learning Centre provides full-time childcare for children 30 to 60 months of age in Prince George, BC.

Duchess Early Learning Centre is open Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 4:45 PM.
We are closed on weekends and statutory holidays.
Families receive an 8 hour time slot which has adjustable drop off and pick up times based on your work schedule.

Yes. Duchess Early Learning Centre is a licensed childcare and early learning centre operating out of our commercial building in the centre of the city.

Daycare availability at Duchess changes throughout the year. We publish our current and upcoming childcare openings on our Waitlist & Registration page and update that information as spaces become available.

We provide our current childcare fee directly to families after they submit an enquiry or waitlist form and before they schedule a tour.
We do this because we want families considering Duchess to first have an opportunity to understand the program, environment and experiences we provide rather than comparing childcare programs on price alone.
Duchess participates in British Columbia's Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative (CCFRI), and some families may also qualify for additional assistance through the Affordable Child Care Benefit (ACCB).

Duchess is a full-time licensed daycare and early learning centre for preschool-aged children. Parents are given a full time spot that they can use as they see fit.
Children spend their full day with us while participating in play, literacy, creative experiences, outdoor exploration, community outings and activities designed to build independence and social-emotional skills.

We believe high-quality childcare should give children meaningful experiences, not simply fill the hours between drop-off and pickup.
At Duchess, children have opportunities to learn through outdoor exploration, neighbourhood walks, community outings, literacy, creative work, gardening, baking, building, music and open-ended play.
Learning also extends beyond our property. Children may visit places such as the Prince George Public Library, local parks, City Hall, the fire hall and other community locations where they can experience the world around them firsthand.
Our program also places a strong emphasis on children becoming increasingly independent, confident, considerate and capable. Educators help children learn to make choices, solve problems, communicate with others, participate in a group and take increasing responsibility for themselves and their environment.
Our goal is not simply to keep children busy. We want their years before kindergarten to be rich in experiences, relationships, exploration and opportunities to grow.
